MediaFunnel’s just rolled out February ’11 release includes some great new features.  The full details of enhancements and fixes can be found here.  Below are some of the highlights.

Integration with Zendesk’s Updated Twicket Functionality

The Zendesk integration has been updated to work with Zendesk’s new and improved Twicket functionality.  Zendesk integration lets you take the conversation “off Twitter” — when a longer conversation needs to occur or if confidential information needs to be exchanged.  Here’s a video that shows how it works:

You can sign up for a free Zendesk trial account to try out the integration.

Video Uploads to Twitter and Facebook

There’s new beta functionality for uploading videos to Twitter.  Video uploading works with TwitVid, yfrog, YouTube and Vimeo.  Within 3rd Party Integration administration for a Twitter channel, an admin can simply select one of the four video hosting providers.  The connection to either TwitVid or yfrog will be automatic.  Credentials need to be provided for connections to YouTube and Vimeo.  Only Vimeo Plus accounts are supported.

Connect Twitter to TwitVid, yfrog, YouTube or Vimeo in MediaFunnel

Please note that the beta version does not display an upload progress bar, so you’ll need to keep an eye on your browser’s status bar or tab spinner to indicate “completed” before leaving the screen.  Also, we recommend keeping videos to under 25 meg.  Since it’s a two step process, once your browser indicates the upload is done, you’ll still need to wait several minutes for the upload to complete in background and for the video to be processed by the host.  Video thumbnails are visible within MediaFunnel after a post has completed.

For Facebook, either YouTube or Vimeo can be select as video hosting providers.

Image Uploads to Twitter and Facebook

Images can now be easily shared via either TwitPic or yfrog when posting Twitter channel.  For each Twitter channel, an admin simply needs to select one of the two image hosts.

For Facebook, images are uploaded to a MediaFunnel-provided Amazon S3 bucket and then displayed in the Facebook Page post.
